Subject: These companies working tomorrow (13.05.2009) inspite of elections
As the Central election for our country is going to happen tomorrow (13.05.2009), certain companies in Chennai announced their employees to work tomorrow compulsorily by giving double wages i.e during the election day. “If they failed to do so they will be suspended or terminated” — This was the circular passed by the Kiran Shankar (Vice President, RR Donnelley) supported by the other management officials Kiran Kumar (Associate Vice President), Sunil Saney (Operations Manager) and Aravamudhan Ramachandran (Associate Operations Manager). Employees also attracted to the double wages rather than casting the vote on the election day. How could this be democracy? Then there is no point in conducting the elections if things go like this. Because of the careless of our election commission these companies are taking advantage. Please take some necessary action on these companies.
